Right now is “go time” for our campaign to re-elect Elizabeth here in Massachusetts. As organizing and campaigning for the November election picks up, this is a time when a Republican challenger could throw their hat into the ring.
The chair of the Massachusetts Republican Party promised to put up a Republican challenger for this race — and GOP insiders have been strategizing on who that will be.
That’s why it’s incredibly important that Elizabeth kicks off 2024 with the strongest grassroots support possible. Any sign of weakness or decline of support right now could serve as a green light for well-funded challengers to jump into this race and threaten our plans for big, structural change.
Elizabeth has big plans to make Supreme Court justices follow a basic code of ethics, prevent members of Congress from being able to trade or own stocks, create universal child care, ensure the right to an abortion across the country, and make the wealthy pay their fair share in taxes.
The special interests and right-wing extremists who have the most to lose from these plans would be more than happy to fund a challenger against Elizabeth — to get her out of office and stifle the momentum for our progressive plans.
